Master Craftsman Preparatory Classes

The Academy of Hearing-aid Acoustics offers various classes to prepare fort eh national Master Craftsman exam, targeting Hearing-Aid Acoustic Journeyman or Master Craftsmen of other professions as well as engineers who wish to work in the field of hearing-aid acoustics.
The classes impart all the knowledge and skills, which are legally required (Official Federal Gazette) for the Master Craftsman Exam. The students have the opportunity to practice with the equipment out of class hours and on the weekends.
The Master Craftsman Exams of the examining boards Rheinhessen-Mainz and Halle are held in the premises of the Academy of Hearing-Aid Acoustics with the equipment the students are used to work with. A smooth running of the exams is guaranteed thanks to years of experience.

1.Fulltime Class („Master Craftsman Course of Studies“) Part I-IV
This course extends over an 11-month period at the Academy of Hearing-Aid Acoustics. All parts required for the Master Craftsman Exam are offered as full-time training courses. If the student has already completed part III and IV or wants to do these parts separately, he /she can still pick this full-time course, i.e. it is possible to do certain parts separately. This way, these students will have additional time for individual studying.
We have also integrated the recommended preparation of the European Diploma/Certificate Hearing-Aid Acoustician in this course. In addition to the regular teaching units, the student selects a specific subject from the field of hearing acoustics, does research and writes a final thesis. He then also has to present his thesis in a colloquium and explain it to a committee of experts.

2.Part-time Class in Lübeck on the weekends („MVWK North“) Part I and II
This course is designed for all those who cannot attend a fulltime class, allowing a combination of both, working in a company while preparing for the Master Craftsman Exam on the weekend. In Lübeck we offer 8 weekend modules with 24 teaching units, each from Thursday to Saturday and another 3-week period with 40 teaching units. The entire class up to the Master Craftsman Exam extends over one year. The exam will be taken in the summer.

3.Part-time/Weekend class in Würzburg / Lübeck („MVWK South“) Part I and II / NEW
This is another course for students who cannot attend a fulltime class. It also allows combining the regular work within the company with studies preparing for the Master Craftsman Exam. In Würzburg we offer 8 weekends modules with 24 teaching units – Monday to Saturday and afterwards, two weeks in Lübeck with a total of 60 teaching units. The entire class up to the Master Craftsman Exam extends over a one-year period; the exam will be taken in the fall/winter.

4.Preparation for the European Diploma/Certificate „A.E.A. Hearing Acoustician“
This class is integrated in the full time course (see 1.) and offers the opportunity to prepare for the European market, as this qualification is recognized by our A.E.A. partners (European Association of Hearing-Aid Acousticians). The Academy of Hearing-Aid Acoustic is the only place in Germany, which offers this specific course. The Master Craftsman course of study (see 1.) is conceived as an application-related teaching on a scientific basis, qualifying the participants to work independent and self-employed. The preparation for the European A.E.A. Diploma/Certificate complements the training with a qualified certificate.

5.Part III and IV of the Master Craftsman Exam
This compact course will be held in three blocks, each with 24 teaching units and one week with 48 teaching units in the Academy of Hearing-Aid Acoustics in Lübeck. The exams for these parts will be taken before the exams for part II and I.
